The Voznesenivskyi district is an administrative, industrial, commercial, cultural and health center of Zaporizhzhia with a developed social infrastructure. The majority of local executive bodies and local self-government bodies, including the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council, the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, and the Zaporizhzhia City Council, are located in the district.

The district has libraries, palaces of culture, theaters, cinemas, a circus, a large number of historical and cultural national monuments, and most importantly, the island of Khortytsia — the largest island on the Dnieper river, which has a rich history. In addition to the wonderful nature of Khortytsia, one should get a closer look at the history of the Zaporizhzhia region, visiting the Museum of the History of the Zaporizhzhia Cossacks, the Museum of Shipping "Chaika" and The Zaporizhzhian Sich Historical and Cultural Complex.
